de Wolfe states ‘Lots of light by night, and not too much drapery to shut out the sunlight by day.’ Therefore, I chose the window which is in the left corner of this floor plan face to the west. A lot of natural light will come into the building in the afternoon but not morning. At the same time, the patio space is also having a lot of natural or sun light in the late afternoon. Light green-yellow wooden floors make the whole space feel clean and comfortable. Warm-colored furniture keeps the space from being monotonous.
Lounge And Reading Area
de Wolfe states ‘Big, welcoming chairs, rather sprawl, and long sofas. A big fire blazing on the open hearth.’ This is why I choose to put the sofa is in the middle of the room. The large pale-yellow sofa makes people feel warm and comfortable. Wooden coffee table gives people a natural feeling. The fireplace in the corner creates a roaring fire on winter nights. The brown bookshelves are located on the edge of the fireplace and can hold many books. The user can enjoy the afternoon sun and read some books while lying on the lounge chair in front of the bookshelf.
Dining And Music Area
de Wolfe states ‘If there is a piano, it should be very carefully placed so that it will not dominate the room, and so that the people who will listen to the music may gather in the opposite corner of the room.’ Therefore, The piano is in the corner of the room in order not to take up too much space. At the same time, damage to the piano caused by direct sunlight is avoided. The sofa seating area and dining area are in the corner of the room so that the listener can listen in a comfortable environment.
